The BA Receives Donations from the Embassy of Oman

In a ceremony held on Wednesday, 25 May 2022, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina received donations from Oman, presented by His Excellency Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi, Ambassador of Oman to Egypt, with the attendance of a high-profile delegation from the Omani Embassy.

On behalf of Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the donations were received by Dr. Sherif Riad, Head of the External Relations and Media Sector. Dr. Riad thanked Ambassador Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi and the accompanying delegation for this donation that is considered an added value to researchers and specialists, and an enrichment to the Library’s collection in the fields related to Oman.

It is worth mentioning that two books on the history of Oman were launched during the ceremony: The Omani Empire by Dr. Saleh Mahrous, and Ziad ibn Al-Muhallab by researcher Mohamed Ibrahim Abdel Majid.

Among the books donated to the BA are Window on Oman, and Oman... My Beautiful Country by Mohamed bin Al-Zubayr.

At the end of the ceremony, Ambassador Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi granted the Shield of the Sultanate of Oman and the Shield of “Bayt Al-Zubayr” to the BA.
