The BA Women Studies and Social Transformation Program, in collaboration with the National Council for Women, is organizing a seminar entitled “The New Labor Law: What's New and What's the Impact?” on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, in the Small Theater of the Library’s Conference Center.

The seminar will be presented by Counselor Alaa Al-Segaie, Deputy President of the Egyptian Court of Cassation; Counselor Ehab Abdel-Ati, Advisor to the Minister of Labor; Professor Tamer Fawqi, partner at Matouk, Bassiouny & Hennawy; Mr. Emad Nasr, President of the Human Power Association - Egypt and HR Director at Lecico - Egypt; and Counselor Dr. Marian Kaldas, CEO of the Egyptian Center for Arbitration and Settlement of Non-Banking Financial Dispute and member of the National Council for Women.

The seminar will address the most prominent features of the new labor law and the amendments it includes that affect the relationship between employers and employees, with a focus on the rights and obligations of working women and the impact of the law on the investment climate and labor market in Egypt. It will also review the balance that the law achieves with regard to the requirements of economic development and labor rights.

The Women Studies and Social Transformation Program is organizing this seminar as part of its role in following up on legislative and social issues that affect the status of Egyptian women and families, and its keenness to spread awareness of new laws and their implications for society.
