The BA Congratulates Dr. Khaled El-Enany on his Election as UNESCO’s Director General

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina congratulates Dr. Khaled El-Enany, former Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, on his well-deserved and sweeping victory in the election for the top post of Director-General of the United Nation Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). This followed Dr. El-Enany’s win yesterday evening in the Executive Board election at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris.
Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, said that this well-deserved victory reflects the international community's confidence in and appreciation of Egypt and its leader, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, noting that this landslide victory is the culmination of the efforts of Egypt's long-standing diplomacy, which managed the nomination process skillfully and with professionalism, reflecting Egypt's role as well as its cultural and humanitarian influence.
Dr. Zayed expressed his confidence in Dr. El-Enany's ability to lead UNESCO in the coming period, thereby contributing to the achievement of its noble mission of promoting cultural dialogue and protecting human heritage.
