The BA Arts Center has announced that the 15th International Summer Festival is set to be held from Monday, 10 July 2017 until Saturday, 26 August 2017.

The festival inauguration will focus on presenting and highlighting China, this year’s guest of honor, in a celebration set to last until Wednesday, 12 July. The celebration will include an exhibition featuring photos of Xinjiang, an exhibition of Xinjiang’s national musical instruments, three film screenings, and a performance of the Xinjiang national dance.

The International Summer Festival is a major cultural season and a tradition that the BA has established in order to add a colorful and unique taste to summer in Alexandria. The BA Arts Center is keen on presenting a cultural output that balances between all new and different forms of art, as well as presenting the classics of Egyptian art, which continues to attract a diverse audience.

This year’s festival has an eventful program with more than 60 versatile artistic events, varying between music, theater, cinema, and dance. This year’s program is brimming with various concerts that will feature several distinguished stars of Egyptian tarab, such as Hany Shaker, Ali el Haggar, and Hanan Mady. Angham will give a concert to conclude the festival on Wednesday, 26 August.

Young singers participating in this year’s events include Mohamed Mohsen, Dina el-Wedidi, Ali El Helbawy, and May Abd el Aziz. Other participating Egyptian musicians include Omar Khairat, Fouad and Mounib, Ahmed Rabie, and Hisham Kharma. The festival program also comprises concerts by Moroccan artist Oum, Tareq Al Nasser from Jordan, Nasser el-Mizdawi from Libya, and Asia Madani from Sudan.
