The Future of the Student Movement After 25 January

The BA Futuristic Studies Unit holds a seminar entitled “The Future of the Student Movement After 25 January” on Tuesday, 5 April 2011.
The Seminar hosts a number of youth activists, namely Emad Mubarak, Lawyer and Chair of the “Freedom of Thought and Expression” Association; Mohamed Abd El-Salam, Translator, Student Activist in Ain Shams University until his graduation in 2010, and Former Coordinator of the “Youth for Freedom and Justice” Movement; Khaled El-Sayed, Student Activist in Helwan University and Member in the “Youth of the Revolution Coalition”; and Mohamed Samy, responsible for students activities in the “6 April” Movement, and its representative in the “Youth of the Revolution Coalition” .
The Seminar discusses the future of the student movement, which is a significant element on the political map, especially after the intensive participation by university students and graduates in the 25 January Revolution, , but, which some see as still lacking awareness and realization of the nature of student activities and of student rights and duties.
“The Future of the Student Movement After 25 January” is part of the strategy of the Futuristic Studies Unit to examine the post-revolution scene in Egypt. It complements the Training Program launched by the Unit to spread political awareness, partly by analyzing different political and ideological trends.
The Seminar is held at the BACC Small Theater at 6:30 pm, and is open for public.
