The BA holds a ceremony on Wednesday, 4 January 2012 to announce the completion of Dar Al-Hilal Documentation project, on the occasion of 150 years on the birth of Goergy (Jurji) Zidan, the Founder of the Publishing House. The Ceremony is held at the Cairo-based Sennary House.

On the fringe lines of the Ceremony, an Exhibition is held featuring several documents of the Dar Al-Hilal on its history, origin and different publications.

The Ceremony marks the completion of Dar Al-Hilal five-year documentation project. The first phase digitized the whole collection of Al-Hilal Magazine and compiled them on DVDs. In the second phase, Dar Al-Hilal Madreset Al-Tanweer (Dar Al-Hilal: A School of Enlightenment) Catalogue was published within the Memory of Modern Egypt Series. The third phase digitized the photo archive of the publishing house.

This project is part of a bigger Egyptian press documentation project, that also documented the history of Rose El-Youssef and Akhbar El-Youm. Currently, the BA seeks to document the history of Al-Ahram and Al-Gomhoreya, as well as newspapers that are no longer published such as El-Masry and Abu-Nadthara.
