Believing in the importance of developing the scientific and knowledge capacities of young people, spreading awareness and scientific thinking among them, and training them to use the latest technologies in data analysis, the BA Sustainable Development Studies Program, Youth Capacity Building and African Relations Support Program is organizing a training course entitled "The Use of Geographic Information Systems in Sustainable Environmental Management", in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment’s National Capacity Building Project - Phase III, from 17 to 19 September 2023, at the BA Conference Center.

The course will be delivered by Dr. Karim Omar, Senior Advisor for Environment and Biodiversity and IUCN Red List global assessor.

It is worth mentioning that this course comes as a continuation of the Library's cooperation with the Ministry of Environment in the third phase of the National Capacity Building Project, which began with the initiative "Nature Conservation: A Lifestyle and Human Commitment". This initiative had witnessed the participation of nearly one hundred students from Alexandria and Damanhur universities to raise awareness of the most important international conventions, including the Rio Convention which includes biodiversity, climate change and desertification.
