The BA Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center (Alex Med) organized the closing day of the "Pharos Symposium" workshop on Thursday, 17 April 2025, in collaboration with the University of Toulon in France, Alexandria University, and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. It was held under the title: “Monitoring Hydrodynamic Processes to Enhance Resilience to Marine and Submergence Risks.”
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University; Eng. Amira Salah, Deputy Governor of Alexandria; Ms. Lina Blin, Consul General of France in Alexandria; and Dr. Marwa El-Wakil, Head of the BA Academic Research Sector. It was presented by Prof. Ziad El-Sayyad, Professor of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University.
The symposium addressed the impact of climate change on coasts, especially the Mediterranean and Red Sea, and examined ways to enhance coastal infrastructure and protect the marine environment from growing risks.
The workshop aimed to produce a working paper featuring recommendations and a roadmap to complete the research and application path of the project, thus allowing effective handling of the effects of climate change.
