Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women, signed yesterday a renewal of the cooperation agreement between the Library and the Council.

Dr. Ahmed Zayed emphasized the depth of his relationship with the National Council for Women, noting that he spent several years on its various committees, particularly the Education Committee, where he gained extensive experience and learned from many distinguished figures who influenced his academic and intellectual career.

He added that women in Egyptian society are the backbone of the family, whether they are educated or uneducated, working or middle class, stressing the fact that they bear double roles between work and family care.

Counselor Amal Ammar said that this agreement represents an important moment that opens new horizons for Egyptian women in the fields of culture and knowledge and affirms their role as genuine partners in the process of development and national renaissance.

She considered the signing of the protocol with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina a strategic step that comes at a time when Egypt needs to harness all its energies, both male and female, to face challenges and shape the future. She also highlighted the Council's commitment to ensuring that this cooperation is a genuine addition to supporting Egyptian women and strengthening their role in building the nation.
