Posted on
The BA Women Studies and Social Transformation Program, in collaboration with the Media and Population Education Department at the Ministry of Health's East Medical Zone, is organizing a seminar on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Conference Center – Lecture Hall.
The seminar will be attended by a group of experts in the field, including Dr. Rasha Saleh, Consultant at the Fever Hospital and Director of its AIDS Unit; Dr. Mona Abdel Moneim, Assistant AIDS Officer at the Alexandria Health Directorate; and Ms. Asmaa Youssef, Psychologist and Training Consultant.
The seminar will address the multiple repercussions of AIDS on Egyptian women, considering its health, psychological, and social dimensions. Although the disease affects women and men equally, its specific characteristics, modes of transmission, and associated societal misconceptions contribute to increasing the burdens borne by women, both socially and psychologically.
This seminar coincides with World AIDS Day, which falls on 1 December each year, emphasizing the importance of continuing awareness efforts, disseminating scientific knowledge, and providing community support undertaken by the Women Studies and Social Transformation Program, with the aim of contributing to the creation of a more understanding and equitable environment for health issues with a social dimension.
The Women Studies and Social Transformation Program invites specialists, interested parties, women, and girls of all ages to take part in this important event. Registration is available through the following link:
