Laval University in Quebec Awards Honorary Doctorate to Serageldin

In the opening ceremony of IFLA World Congress on Information and Libraries, and in the presence of 4000 librarians from all over the world, the Rector of Laval University presented Serageldin with the Honorary Doctorate bestowed to him by the prestigious University on Sunday, 10 August 2008. This honourable acclaim being conferred to Serageldin in front of his world peers lent an even more touching significance to the occasion. This is the 22nd honorary doctorate to be awarded to Serageldin.
On the same day, Dr. Serageldin also received the “Champion of Youth” Award, at the opening ceremony of the 4th World Youth Congress.
