Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, is set to inaugurate the “Memory of Modern Egypt Project” seminar on Tuesday, 16 December, at 12:00 pm, at the Library's Conference Center.

The seminar will witness the announcement of the addition of 1,000 new Egyptian personalities to the project website, as well as the first-ever display of a rare photo album of former Prime Minister Hussein Sirri Pasha. It will also launch a special issue of Memory of Egypt magazine entitled “Parliaments and Representatives,” which traces the development of the legislative institution and documents the biographies of certain prominent parliamentary figures, many of whom have not been written about since the Shura Council of Representatives in 1866 and the end of the 20th century.

The issue features articles by a number of senior professors of history and political science and specialists in successive historical periods.

A group of history professors will speak at the seminar, including Prof. Latifa Salem, Prof. Ahmed El-Sherbini, and Prof. Sherif Imam, as well as researchers from the Memory of Egypt project.
